Bachelor of Resource Studies
Having been in the industry since 2001 Bridget brings resource management experience from her time in both New Zealand and the UK, along with 10 years in salmon fisheries management.
Her key focus areas includes water quality, compliance, and proactive catchment management projects, particularly in the challenging Upper Waitaki Catchment. She has wide experience preparing various consent applications and assessments of environmental effects and has experience in hearing processes including the Environment Court.
A key part of Bridget’s role is her project coordination relating to Fish Screen Facilities, bringing together engineering and ecology experts and working alongside clients who need her proven expertise for new fish screens or upgrades to ensure practical outcomes that meet compliance requirements.Bridget project managed the MPI and IrrigationNZ joint National Fish Screen Research Project.
Bridget is Project Manager of the Ahuriri Catchment Group, Omarama Stream Water Group and Wairepo Catchment Group. She is passionate about genuine Runanga engagement and incorporating this proactively into her work.
Bridget holds a Bachelor of Resource Studies and has completed courses with NIWA on hydraulic modelling, and Engineering NZ and Irrigation NZ on Design of Fish Screen facilities at river takes. She was a member of the original fish screen working party from 2003-2009.
Bridget is based near Temuka with her family on a mixed arable, process vegetable, fruit and stock farm. Outside of work she enjoys tramping, art, music and being outside with the kids and pets.
